Its Fishing Season Lets Sell That Liquid Purge

Everybody around here is going up on Lake Thurman for those big stripers smile. This year I am going to take along some boxed-beef purge that I bought locally to use a chum.

Let me know how that purge works out for you.  How do you buy it?  do you ask for it or do they package it for the case?

RE: Its Fishing Season Lets Sell That Liquid Purge

They put the purge in those chicken liver containers and sell it frozen. Heck Walmart  down here sells night crawlers in those same containers right in the store. In a refrigerator. So if Walmart  can sell night crawlers then us meat cutters can sell purge. biggrin

Tell you a funny story. My wife loves plants and she has them all over the house. winkSo I got this bright-idea to put some purge in her plants to really make them grow. I read where blood will add nitrogen to the plants and they will prosper and get really big. So I did it. After about a week she calls me and says honey you better come home I think something died under the house. So I go home and when I walked in the house I could smell it, really bad and she even had the windows open. I crawled under the front porch and back porch but didn't see anything. I even went up in the attic nothing dead. I said it is possible that a squirrel could have died in the wall somewhere. She had all the widows open and fans going. I sat down to dinner and we were having steak and I like mine rare. As I was cutting into that steak, "bam", it hit me like a sledgehammer. Oh crap, its the purge I put in her plants. I had to fess up and boy did she get bleh mad. I thought she was going to kill me because she had to empty out all 40 plants and put fresh dirt in the containers."Ouch"hmm

I bet you won't try that in the house again.  You forgot to mention if the plants were indeed prospering?  Its possibly a good greenhouse or garden ingredient.

Well my wife's plants never had a chance to prosper because she replanted them but many gardeners do use dried blood on their roses. However, when using dried blood you need to use caution because it will burn your plants. The purge is diluted with water and is not so strong. Once I tried dried beef blood on my lawn and it burnt a larger circle where I applied it. I applied it to heavy.
