Slow Sales

YES JOLEEN, I HAVE, about 10 years ago, Ingles had hams portions on sale for 79 cents, butts and shanks every body else was running 1.09 including me, They had started the sale a few days before and I went down and bought 10 cases, after that they put a limit on them,4 pieces to a customer, In those days they had the ham slices in the box with them,I made good money off them LOL  Their market manager was a young guy, hadn't had that market but a few weeks, He never like me after that, wouldn't even speak to me when I went in there LOL
I bet I tought him to call a " MEAT GOD " and get a ok on stuff like that ( wink )
seen it

This has crossed my mind from time to time. When chicken legs are $0.29/lb up the road...that's a helluva lot cheap than what I'm paying!!!

Wow what the heck are theirprices like to begin with? Must be awfullyhigh! Also that seems desperate you must be putting a hurt on them. Hang in there they'll be back! Stick to your guns: quality and customer service, hopefully your company will fire back.

Thrifty's is a very expensive Brand new store in the same area as mine. Prices are alot higher. The problem is the owner has very deep pockets. They are country wide I believe and growing. The IGA I work for is expensive too but the shop I am in is a REALLY BIG corner store. Most people live just there on the same street. There is also another brand new store (SAVE-ON) being built just down the street from the new Thrifty's. So Geez.......There will be another battle. I am getting used to dicounting and merchandising the heck out of things. I run a tight ship more than ever

Although H.Y.Louie is our "Parent" my IGA is independently owned. Man we go thru the hoops sometimes! I'm sure all smaller shops do tho too?
