National Beef Backer Awards backs a "Chain Restaurant" category   MEAT CUTTER OF THE YEAR AWARD, WHERE is the Chain Store, Independent, Butcher Shop,Packing House, MEAT CUTTER OF THE YEAR AWARD ??

 

Texas Roadhouse, based in Louisville, earned a National Beef Backer Award in the "Chain Restaurant" category during The Beef Checkoff Program at the annual Cattle Industry Conference in San Antonio, Texas

 

 Texas Roadhouse makes a special effort to honor and incent their beloved butchers. “We are so proud of our meat cutters and admire their dedication to our standards of excellence. In fact, we hold an annual Texas Roadhouse Meat Cutting Challenge—there are several rounds of competition, and one winner takes home a grand prize of $20,000 and the title of Meat Cutter of the Year,” Hart explains.

 

Entries for the National Beef Backer Awards program originate at the state level.  Texas Roadhouse won top honors in the Kentucky Beef Council’s Beef Backer contest before being judged winner in the national contest.

 

IN 2009 there were 125,510 Meat cutters in the USA, 87,090 in Grocery Stores, 12,850 in specially shops, 12,700 slaughtering & Processing, 5,730 in General Merchandise Stores,  3,390 in Grocery & Related Product Wholesalers

 

 The chain Texas Roadhouse  operates about 320 (July, 2009) locations in 46 states. Would that be at lest 320 Meat cutters ? WHY does the National Beef Backer Awards Choose to back a Meat Cutter Of The Year From 320 Meat Cutters and leave out 125,290 other Meat Cutters ???

ive seen the videos, it is nothing more than proptoin control with a chef knife. i would like to see them fill a meat case in two hours, with a strict list and not one extra ounce of meat cut that was uneeded, oh wait thats what i did. fwiw its a shame to say that texas roadhouse is the only quality steak place in town though......i do like it though. coming back from vacation on a sunday is never fun

You are right on! Can these guys bone out and merchandise a calf? Can they do every cut off a cattle or just slice steaks from a sub-primal already boned out for them?
