ANYONE EVER USE ONE OF THESE ??

Photobucket The TOR REY ST-295 PE saw is perfect for meat markets, supermarkets, and hotels. This saw can handle bone in cuts with no trouble and is ideally suited for medium duty work.

I've seen the Torrey line-up of saws and grinders. Never used one but wondered about them. They are a lower cost alternitive, made in Mexico I believe. I've used mostly Hobart but some Biro and Butcher Boy also.

Never used one, I would make sure that the saw comes completely apart easily, without tools! I work on a chef's knife (toy) bansaw and I have to use friggin tools to get it apart and back together,   to clean it, ridiculous!

That saw would be great for home use, if you had the space and room. It'd be great for deer season.

 I never used one of those Leon.

We have two Biro's where I work and had three at my previous store.  I don't care for them.

Ours have problems with the blade jumping off the wheels and then it gets a kink in it making it un useable. I don't mind wasting a blade since I'm not paying for them. It's just a waste of time to set it back on the machine. Also, the bottom wheel doesn't come off easily for cleaning (does it?)

Hi Larry, NO the bottom wheel doesn't come off easy to clean, in fact a lot of places I worked at wouldn't let you take it off but used a long handle wire brush to clean behind it. Till a few days before the State man was due.

problems with the blade jumping off the wheels, if they will let you, try putting a piece of very flat metal under the housing of the top wheel,  It will lift up and tilt the wheel just enough to keep it from coming off. ( wink )

 That's a good tip about the piece of metal. If the problem gets worse, I may try it.

I wouldn't buy a Biro if I had a store. That is unless I found one at a very good price. I like old Hobarts, or the more common new type I see at the large chain stores. #5700 or 5701 or 5801

we use to have a tiny saw by the service case looked like that not sure if it was that exact one
