The Meat Cutters Club® A WEB SITE FOR MEAT INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS,MEAT CUTTERS, MEAT WRAPPERS, DELI WORKERS, MEAT SHOPS, WEB SITES AND MEAT BUSINESSES. A HEARTY WELCOME FROM OUR BROTHERHOOD OF MEAT CUTTERS FROM 18 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD. THE MEATCUTTERSCLUB was founded in August of 2003 by Leon Wildberger. At the time, Leon was a 41-year veteran of retail meat cutting. Although he was already an experienced meat manager, he was always looking for new ideas. The retail meat business is ever changing and highly competitive and Leon knew that old dogs that don’t learn new tricks quickly fall behind in this trade. He had been surfing the Internet looking for current information on the state of retail meat cutting but, after an extensive search, Leon was surprised and dismayed to find very little useful information. So, in the spirit of all resourceful meat men, he built his own: THE MEATCUTTERSCLUB. The first MEATCUTTERSCLUB was built on MSN groups in 2003. The club was there for six years until MSN closed down their groups. Leon then moved the club to Google Sites and there the club grew quickly, taking in members from across the U.S. and 18 countries. In 2011, drawing on the resources of a growing membership of multi-talented meat-cutters, the club now has both its own Webmaster and website—MEATCUTTERSCLUB.COM Today, MEATCUTTERSCLUB.COM is a fast-growing voice in the meat cutting industry. Our primary mission is to promote and advance the art and craft of the meat cutting trade. As an industry advocate we will endeavor to:
To be an information resource for meat-cutters of all types and skill levels-- promoting pride and excellence in the meat-cutting trade. From current events to historical beginnings, the club offers news, video, and commentary on the state of the industry. Lively, open bulletin boards allow cutters to ask questions, debate styles and practices, and receive up to the minute tips and advice on their trade. From hanging beef to box beef, from butcher to shop, many of our members have decades of experience, and are committed to helping those seeking knowledge.
To offer a social network for meat cutters and meat industry people to come together, have a place to talk with others in their trade, ask questions, or to get support on problems at work. As Leon likes to say, “Come on in and shoot the bull!” To educate the general public about the trade, answer meat questions and offer a glimpse behind the cooler window.
To advance knowledge and publicity about the trade. To recognize excellence and unify competition and recognition of the best artisans in our business. We believe it is high time for a national Meat-Cutter of the Year award. To provide the industry a medium tocommunicate with the on-the-job meat members in a no-nonsense, cost effective manner. If you are looking to target anyone from small independent meat cutters to major meat processors, http://www.meatcuttersclub.com/instantly gives you access to thousands of professional meat-cutters across the country and the globe.
