RE: How many of you push Meat Bundle Specials

We did for a short time, thank God. $19.99 got you 4 5 ounce bacon wrapped top sirloins, 5 smallish pork chops, 4 marinated chicken breasts, and 4 of our 'signature' hamburger patties. It started out slow, about 5-10 a day, then we were pushing about 80 a day and climbing before it was stopped after about a month or so. The meat was packaged in 7HD trays, with the trays packaged in a cardboard box 'lids'. This was our supreme meat god's idea, but every other meat & store god hated it. Called them 'ghetto boxes.' They took an insane amount of time to make, label, and wrap. Dang things wouldn't fit in the automatic wrapper. I couldn't say they actually made money. Sales, maybe. Gross, no. Pissed off cutters & wrappers, yes.

How many of you push Meat Bundle Specials

my boss just took the signs down last week. not sure if she is planning to revise them or something but i wasn't crazy about them. they were like this different options 25 25 45 or 55 pound bundles. including things like 6 shoulder steaks, 6 packs of country style ribs, 1 10lb bag leg1/4s 1 10lb bag of ground chuck and so on..also up to 10lbs of hotdogs could be included and a coupel of them included 5 lbs of ground sausage. the problem i had with them is the few people who wanted them would never call ahead first they just show up and ask for it so i have to stop whatever i am doing and run around getting all this **** together. i wouldn't mind so much if they called and asked me to have it ready in the morning.  anyway the boss took the signs down and i hope she isn't putthing them back up. but if she does oh well. however i want to ask her if we can put something else in that spot. I want to take pictures of crown roasts and standing rib roasts and alot of other holiday special items and stick those pictures ont hat wall with signs telling people to place their holiday orders here. of course we got a few months before the holiday season kicks in but i think that could work.

Our bundle includes all this:

5 Lb. Sirloin Patties
5 Lb. Sirloin Tips
5 Lb. Split Chicken Breasts
5 Lb. Chicken Wings
2 Whole Pork Tenderloins
2.5 Lb. Beef Franks
3 Lb. Fresh Salad Mix with 1 Free bottle house dressing
2 Dozen Hot Dog Rolls
2 Dozen Hamburger Rolls
2 Bottles Store BBQ Sauce
Free Tote Bag

All for $89.99 - if you purchase this you can buy a whole Sirloin Strip for $1.99/lb

We've had several bundles since we tried them out a couple years ago. Usually run them for a week or two. We only sold around 40 per day in the first few days of the special, but I expect hundreds over the weekend. Fortunately I work the bandsaw saw and there's nothing in there for that. BUT I do have 3 specials, Bone in Rib Steaks, Bone in Strip steaks and Pork Spare Ribs .. so fun week for everyone :)
