Children's Hospital

I am currently a BCH employee and this is what I like about this program:

- Richly academic: There are many opportunities in BCH. If you are a researcher, you have mentors and available funds. There are weekly psychopharm and psychotherapy didactics + journal club magazines that explore the history/traditions of our fields and introduce us to the most important scientific discoveries in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. During the first year we attend the famous McLean Didactics and have the opportunity to study in an intimate setting with the giants in our field (for example, with Dr. Carlan Lyons Root and Dr. Bessel van der Kolk)!!!

- Practical: Most of the basic requirements are met during the first year. We have our own outpatient, inpatient psychological and medical floors. The only trip related to this is a trip to our community clinic (10 minutes drive, 20 minutes bike ride, 30 minutes walk). Since most of the requirements are met during CAP1, there is enough time left in the second year for a variety of elective classes. And you can make your own schedule! So it's really good for those people who are purposeful and resourceful.

- Work-life balance: Yes, I heard from graduates that our call was rude before. This is no longer the case. They hired SW to cover the costs of ED, so we only cover our inpatient department. We can receive calls from home, we just need to be able to be at home within an hour after the call. Since 12 fellows participate in the program, the coverage is quite wide. Honestly, it's pretty cool. Sorry, a long tirade on this topic. Anyway, I don't work myself to exhaustion. We all have plenty of time to travel, explore Boston, spend time with the kids and engage in passionate projects.

RE: Children's Hospital

I don’t even know what to say here. This hospital is a very cool place, at least according to my impressions.
I have got a pediatrist from cameronmch.com affiliated with this hospital. She is a good doctor who always helps my baby. I cannot recall a single negative thing about her work and have recommended her to my friends and family.
So, I think that specialists would be happy to work in such a place. This should be so because I don’t know how they manage to maintain such cooperation without having a good relationship with each other.
