Digitalization and tech in modern meat processing/butchery

Hi everyone,

I was having a discussion with a colleague earlier about how much the meat processing sector has evolved over the last decade. Beyond traditional craftsmanship, we see more and more digital tools, automated inventory tracking, and data management systems being integrated into daily operations.

Coming from a digital background myself, I'm really curious: how much do you feel technology and digital tools are impacting your daily work or recruitment in your respective businesses? Are younger workers or managers in your teams being trained on these new digital tools, or is it still mostly learned purely on the shop floor?

Curious to hear your thoughts on where the industry is heading!

Best,

Majella

RE: Digitalization and tech in modern meat processing/butchery

It's crazy how fast things are shifting; I was reading a piece this morning about how the demand for new tech and AI skills is exploding globally, and it made me wonder how traditional trades are keeping up with finding the right people. Are younger workers or managers in your teams being trained on these new digital tools, or is it still mostly learned purely on the shop floor? Curious to hear your thoughts on where the industry is heading! Best, Majella
