A interesting phone call I got this morning.

This morning I got a call from this lady,

Audrey E. Kali, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Communication Arts
Framingham State University
100 State Street
Framingham, MA 01701

I had e-mail her about getting permission to put some of her stories on the site, these stories are at http://abattoirrising.com/ some of you here may find them interesting. if you go there, click on the updates and the Story. Instead of us linking to her stories she has agreed to write stories for us.

Below is a newspaper article about her. One of her projects is to get more meat cutters working in the slaughterhouses.

I look forward to her stories and glad she has agreed to write them, some will be with video.

"But the shortage of slaughterhouses in New England is making it difficult for animals to be slaughtered humanely."

As demand for locally-produced meat increases, Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation officials appeared Thursday before the joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture in the state House of Representatives to support a bill filed by Rep. Stephen Kulik, D-Worthington, calling for changes to the oversight of slaughtering that would help local farmers.

The demand for carcass exceeds the supply...that's interesting. This is a really great opportunity for maximizing cutter skill sets. If it was offered here I'd definitely look into it.
