I searched for a long time trying to find meat information online for our trade - found a lot of sites that just gave information about meat cutting as it is used in the kitchen, but not in the meat shop. Then a friend at work found the Meat Cutters Club and pointed me towards it. I was skeptical, but I have learned more from this site in the last 2 days than I have in the last 2 years where I work now. After 10 years it's hard to find information I don't already know. Typically, everyone at my work comes to me with the meat questions they don't know. But there is still a ton out there that I can learn! I won't ever be satisfied with what I know ... and this site has given me the opportunity to finally learn something other than the basic junk I do every single day. Who can learn from cutting the same 10 primals every day? I feel like I'm getting dumber every day I work!
So again, thanks for putting up this wonderful site and forum - you don't know how much it means to me to finally be able to share my passion for meat with other people who understand the trade. Being able to learn and exchange ideas with other meat cutters is unbelieveable. :)
You may have read on the front page that I also looked for a long time trying to find a site like this, couldn't find one, So I built this one.
BUT a site like this only works because of meat cutters that have a interest in their trade and pride in doing it.
While we have many members that interact with us on the message board, we have many that does not. BUT I do see them online here looking and reading the post. a lot of these cutters e-mail me often with questions or telling me something that piss them off about differ things going on in their companies. WHICH I can understand why they wouldn't post these here, you never know when a " Meat God " from one of these companies may come in here looking around lol
I never made this a private site, it's open to the public, I do have some message boards ONLY a member can see. Thinking about making another one that only members can see and use the title, " THINGS THAT PISS ME OFF TODAY " LOL
