Butchers and Meat Cutters earn an average wage of $34,000 per year nation wide. Butchers and Meat Cutters are paid the highest in Connecticut, where they earn average pay of just about $43,000

 I lived in CT for 25 years. Yes they make good money there, mostly because of longetivity in the Unions, but that is coming to and end. I live in ohio now and make about 3 or 4 dollars less than i would in CT but, i the cost of living is almost half in regards to rents/mortgages and taxes...

 Very sad.  I quit the trade in 1996 when I was making $46k/year as I felt it was far too low.
